About Ceramic Coatings

System X® becomes the new functional surface of your vehicle’s paintwork. By creating an inseparable bond on a molecular level with your paintwork you get a hard glossy shell that cannot be washed off like a wax or a sealant.

The new clear coating is glossier, chemical resistant, and harder than the original clear coat. This incredible barrier of protection against minor scratches, swirl marks, acid rain, bird droppings, and harmful UV rays.

The unique formula of System X® Ceramic Protection locks in long-lasting beauty by keeping paint clean through its super slick properties – this new ceramic layer helps contaminants slide right off. The result? Greatly reduced time and expenses related to ongoing care and maintenance.

What is Ceramic Coating?

A Ceramic Coating is a liquid polymer that is applied by hand to the exterior of a vehicle. The coating chemically bonds with the vehicle’s factory paint, creating a layer of protection.

A Ceramic Coating is a premium wax alternative. A Ceramic Coating creates a permanent or semi-permanent bond with a vehicle’s paint, meaning that it does not wash away or break down and does not require repeated application every few months.

How is Ceramic Coating Applied?

Installing a ceramic coating is an extremely tedious process. Below is a breakdown of how ceramic coatings are installed.

  • 100% Hand Car Wash
Using PH neutral soap and a clean wash mitt and safe towel to dry.
  • Paint Decontamination
Clay bar treatment to mechanically decontaminate the paint followed by chemical decontamination with iron removers.
  • Labor intensive Machine Paint Correction
We must make your car’s paint as close to perfect as possible so that we don’t seal those defects under the coating.
  • Surface Cleansing Coating Prep
We apply an alcohol-based cleaning solution to give the coating a proper surface to bond too. Unlike wax coatings bond to your clear coat.
  • Tedious Panel by Panel Installation
We apply the coating panel-by-panel with an applicator and special soft towels to prevent further damage.

What is the difference between Ceramic Coating and Wax?

Ceramic coatings and wax are both popular choices for protecting automotive paint. But what is the difference between the two? Ceramic coatings are made of SiO2, or silicon dioxide, which is the same substance that makes up quartz. This makes ceramic coatings very hard and durable. In fact, they are so tough that they can only be removed with specialized chemicals. Ceramic coatings also have excellent heat resistance, making them ideal for protecting against sun damage. Wax, on the other hand, is a natural product made from beeswax or carnauba wax. It does not bond to the paint as strongly as a ceramic coating, but it can be applied much more easily. Wax also needs to be reapplied more frequently, typically every few months. But many people prefer the natural look and feel of waxed paint. Ultimately, the choice between ceramic coatings and wax is a matter of personal preference.
